International Literacy Day

International Literacy Day has been celebrated for over 50 years on 8th of September. We are about to tell you the importance and the benefits of global literacy.

Literacy means the ability to read and write. Imagine never learning to read or write, do you think you would be where you are right now? Do you think you would have made it through school or university without the basic skills of literacy?

Everyone takes literacy for granted. In fact, 774 million people in the world are illiterate and this gives them a significant impact on their livelihoods according to the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

Lets give you a closer look into Global Literacy..

If you look at the statistics, you can see that more than 100 million youth worldwide lack basic literacy skills. It also influences how we communicate, trade with and support each other. Without the basic skills, it is extremely hard to do this.

Here at Lowplex Books, we can offer you a massive range of basic skilled literacy books from our Phonics range to our incredible collection of Education Books

By teaching your own children from a young age, they will pick up on things much quicker as their brain works very fast. Becoming familiar with literacy skills for them would be a complete advantage to their learning journey.

We hope you all have a lovely day of International Literacy Day!

With love, from the Lowplex Books family.
